Description:
33m high sculpted by Henri Bouchard and completed in 1939. Dedicated to all those whose have fought foriegn invaders, the site was chosen by Marechal Foch to commemorate one of the most crucial battles in the seven day battle of the "Miracle of the Marne" when Paris was saved.
The French - 77th RI and a Moroccan Div under Gen Humbert - held the Germans in the St Gond marshes below the memorial.
